Lifting for Care Assistants

Courses are run on the client's premises, and only the client's equipment is used for training. This ensures that the student becomes trained in the use of equipment that they may called upon to use in their everyday work.

Lifting and moving someone who is disabled can be difficult; strenuous and even dangerous. This course has been produced to demonstrate and teach the correct lifting and handling techniques which will enable care workers to tackle everyday work problems with safety.

  • The principles of safe lifting
  • Standing transfers
  • Lifting in the bedroom/ward
  • Lifting in the bathroom
  • Lifting in the lavatory
  • Lifting from the floor
  • Using hoists, slide boards and other aids
  • Skills assessment

Course Duration

Half day course.

Training is priced on a daily basis. The day can be split into two half-day modules for two groups or a full day with extended practice for one group.
